What makes watercolor such an engaging medium is its luminosity—the glow of paper shining through transparent washes of color. Whether you are a novice or a master, The Art of Watercolor will enlighten your sensitivity to handling the dance between pigment and paper. Learn about the characteristics of various papers, brushes and pigments. Be inspired by works of famed watercolorists Janet Fish, Winslow Homer, Georgia O’Keeffe, Emil Nolde, John Singer Sargent, Edward Hopper, Mary Cassatt and others. Artist Ellen Orseck is your guide as you develop expertise with new skills and techniques. This course includes a field trip to either an exhibit or an artist’s studio. All skill levels are welcome.
Note: Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation for the course field trip.
Studio art supply lists are shared two weeks prior to each course start date. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
