Small is beautiful in this dynamic studio art course that invites you to create a series of compact drawings and paintings on paper. Limiting the size of your work proves surprisingly liberating, allowing you to immerse yourself in the subtleties of your subject, whether you prefer landscapes, still lifes, portraits or more. You’ll begin with a value drawing and then complete a companion painting in full color with gouache or acrylic paint. Make one drawing and one painting in class each week, for a total of a dozen artworks. See how fluid and freeing it can be to work small. This course is open to students at all levels from beginners to advanced artists.
