Modern European history has been a dynamic process of revolution and reaction. This dynamism has provided history with significant and fascinating events, accomplishments and personalities. From the turbulence of the French Revolution to the two world wars, the rise and fall of communism, the birth of the European Union and beyond, modern Europeans have transformed themselves and the world. In this course, Dr. Wil McCorquodale explores European history from the French Revolution to the post–World War II era. This class will examine revolutions and reactions, including the forces that resisted change, a conflict that remains in play even today.
