This online program will cover: timeline and testing planning, college match/college lists, application process, letters of recommendation, extracurricular activities, college essay, financial aid and transition planning.

INSTRUCTORS:
Dr. Nick J. Accrocco was a college admissions professional at two highly selective universities and a college counselor at four distinct secondary school communities. He earned his B.A. from Vanderbilt University, his M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University's George Peabody College of Education & Human Development, his graduate certificate in College Counseling from the University of California-Los Angeles and his Ed.D. in Professional Leadership from the University of Houston. Dr. Accrocco combines a passion for helping students and families through the college search process with a healthy amount of humor.

Mia Bradford is a Financial Self-care Coach for Beyond the Busyness, LLC where she provides personalized financial services to families to secure their assets and build wealth. As the former Director and Founder of HISD's Project Explore, she managed the implementation of early college awareness instruction and programming on all HISD middle school & elementary campuses as well as managed a team of 32 advisors and managers. As a former college access professional, Mia is passionate about ensuring that students from under-served communities are aware of their post-secondary college and career options via early college awareness initiatives. Mia is a native Californian and received her Bachelor’s in Economics and Spanish-Linguistics from UCLA, followed by her Master’s in School Counseling from New York University. She spent the first 10 years of her career as a New York City School Counselor and Director of College Counseling before relocating to Houston. She serves as a mentor for the Texas Association of College Admissions Counselors. Mia is a graduate of Houston Black Leadership Institute’s Class IV and Leadership ISD, Harris County's inaugural class.
