Join Rice University's School Literacy and Culture for our 24th annual Winter Early Literacy Summit . We will celebrate the legacy of SLC’s third director Connie Floyd, a beloved early childhood advocate, leader and educator whose legacy taught us how educators can persevere through challenging times while keeping “little ones first”.

During this full-day conference, a variety of breakout sessions will be offered inspired by Connie’s passion for creating classrooms where children thrive and feel a sense of belonging. Early childhood professionals will learn practical ideas for creating effective, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that promote and support the entire child across developmental domains.

A highlight of the day is a featured session presented by SLC’s founding director and author of When Stories Come to School and The Classrooms All Young Children Need, Dr. Patricia Cooper. Educators are sure to enjoy a day of professional learning and collaboration while exploring hundreds of practical ways to enrich their current practices.
