Join School Literacy and Culture on the Rice University campus for our 21st annual Early Literacy Summit. During this one-day gathering, early childhood professionals will explore ways to foster high-quality teacher/child interaction, create classroom environments that stimulate higher-order thinking, and foster socio-emotional development in children.

Participants will have the opportunity to select and attend multiple breakout sessions, including a feature session by Patsy Cooper, author of When Stories Come to School and The Classrooms All Young Children Need, as well as sessions led by School Literacy and Culture staff, mentors and guests. Interactive sessions will explore activities and questioning techniques that build trusting classroom relationships, promote early literacy development, and encourage children to think critically and creatively.
