PSCDSDAB1001 - Data Analytics Boot Camp

Participants learn the fundamental and specialized skills necessary to land a job or advance in the booming field of data analytics, including Python, JavaScript, Advanced Excel, SQL Databases and more. Students receive a hands-on, classroom learning experience, conducting robust analytics on a host of real-world problems. The program offers access to a tutor network to get help both inside and outside the classroom.

Upon completion of the program, participants will have the ability to:

• Employ statistical analysis to models, predict and forecast trends
• Expertly build VBA scripts in Excel to automate tedious manual processes
• Utilize real-world data sources to showcase social, financial and political phenomena
• Create Python-based scripts to automate the cleanup, re-structuring, and rendering of large, heterogeneous datasets
• Analyze social media trends on Twitter and Facebook using automated programs
• Use advanced SQL and Mongo techniques to combine multiple datasets into one so as to create even more impressive and comprehensive databases

Rice University Data Analytics Boot Camp is a 24-week, Data Analytics course. It is part-time and designed for working professionals and students who are actively pursuing a career change or advancement or looking to gain a new skillset. The Course Report community is now eligible for a $500 scholarship to Rice University’s Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies.
