SLECEVWWR - Writing Workstations: Supporting a Roomful of Writers

Young children have stories to share and ideas to explore long before they are able to write words themselves. How often, though, do we as adults intentionally make time to sit beside them and listen?   During this virtual, on demand course, topics will include stages of writing development in young children, a scaffolded approach to supporting writing development in young children, and an introduction to creating inviting writing workstations and learning centers. Through a combination of professional readings, asynchronous workshop content, and a structured reflection project, participants will gather practical suggestions for supporting children’s socio-emotional development and building their confidence as emerging writers.
