What makes watercolor such an engaging medium is its luminosity—the glow of paper shining through transparent washes of color. Whether you are a novice or a master artist, this course will enhance your sensitivity to handling the dance between pigment and paper. Learn about the characteristics of various papers, brushes and pigments. Be inspired by works of famed watercolorists Janet Fish, Winslow Homer, Georgia O’Keeffe, Emil Nolde, John Singer Sargent, Edward Hopper, Mary Cassatt and others. Artist Ellen Orseck is your guide as you develop expertise with new skills and techniques. This course includes a field trip to either an exhibit or an artist’s studio. All skill levels are welcome.
