CRCACUAP - Undergraduate Admissions Process
The college search process can be simultaneously exciting and daunting for students and their families. Effective college counseling requires fundamental and advanced counseling skills, knowledge of adolescent cognitive development, an understanding of the higher education landscape, and familiarity with the undergraduate admissions process and financial aid. This program provides a holistic, core curriculum to teach the critical skills of effective college counseling.
This course may be taken independently or as a component of the College Access Counseling Certificate.

Module 1: Objective Data: This module explores the objective measures of a student’s application and how it impacts informed admissions decisions. Specific attention will be given to standardized testing, grades, curriculum, high school context, as well as financial considerations.
Module 2: Subjective Data: This module examines the role of subjective data in a student’s application and how it is used to develop a more human portrait of the student beyond the numbers. Topics discussed will include extracurricular activities, essays, letters of recommendation, resumes and interviews.
Module 3:Special Variables: This module identifies and discusses the variety of factors that may influence the final admissions decision. These factors include extracurricular variables (art and athletics), development cases, legacies and disciplinary infractions.
Module 4:Holistic Review: The final module synthesizes the topics covered in the first three modules to demonstrate the holistic review within the undergraduate admissions process. Students will draw upon the previous week’s lessons to make informed admissions decisions using case studies.
This course is self-paced within the defined 2-week period of the section.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Single Course Refund Policy: Participants are eligible for a 90% refund when cancellation is requested at least 30 days prior to the start date of the course. No refunds are provided for cancellations received less than 30 days prior to the start date of the course.
Discounted Bundle Refund Policy: Participants are eligible for a 90% refund when cancellation is requested at least 30 days prior to the start of the first course in their plan of study. No refunds are provided for cancellations received less than 30 days prior to the start of the first course in their plan of study.
