Dig into Texas wildflowers in this half-day workshop with native plant garden design team Glenn Olsen and Elizabeth White Olsen. Wildflowers abound in Texas, from bluebonnets to bee balms. They provide food and habitat for wildlife, enhance pollinator populations and bring beauty to our landscapes. Learn about wildflowers throughout the state’s 10 ecoregions and gain information you’ll need to plan a trip to see wildflowers during prime viewing in the fall and spring. Explore the germination of wildflower seeds and discover which flowers to plant in your yard or garden. Combining classroom lectures, discussion and interactive elements like up-close viewing of wildflowers and their seeds and a native wildflower walk on Rice’s campus (weather permitting), your understanding of wildflowers is sure to blossom!
