Leading With Purpose (LWP) is an enriching leadership experience tailored specifically for women. It goes beyond traditional courses, offering a journey that empowers participants to become intentional and impactful leaders within a supportive community. Designed for early to mid-career professionals, LWP helps women align their actions with their core values and purpose, fostering clarity and confidence in their leadership roles.

This experience is perfect for women who are eager to:

•    Align their actions with their core values and purpose.
•    Build meaningful connections and a supportive network.
•    Enhance their leadership skills and competencies.
•    Aspire to take on leadership roles or tailor their current roles for greater impact and fulfillment.

Important Participation Information: To ensure a successful experience, it is essential that you coordinate your schedule with the course dates and secure your supervisor's support (if necessary) for your participation. Engagement in this program is crucial for achieving the desired outcomes. Please note that the group development sessions cannot be rescheduled or made up.

We offer a two-part payment plan that requires a 50% deposit at the time of registration. The system will automatically charge the remaining balance thirty days later. To enroll using the installment plan, select 'Pay deposit now' and choose 'scheduled payments' at checkout.

Approved for 18 SHRM recertification PDC's.

Course Details

•    To enhance understanding of personal awareness and the critical topics facing women leaders today.



1.    Gain Clarity
       a.    Purpose-driven Leadership and Authenticity (e.g., Purpose-Driven Matrix, making room for your whole self)
       b.    Leader Brand and Identity (Exercise- Review Your Personal Chapters)
       c.    Leadership Vision and Action & Progress Over Perfection (it’s a jungle not a ladder)

2.    Create Connections  
      a.    Build Your Community (a supportive network of empowered women leaders, peer coaching, assess your network); Develop Your Personal Board of Directors &               Connection Plan
      b.    Being Your Own Career Coach (creating career insurance)
      c.    Roadblocks and Resilience (e.g., impostor syndrome, the cost of insecurity, energy (not time) management, when sense of self is threatened, etc.) 

3.    Build Confidence
     a.    Leader Voice and Presence (Amplify Your Brand)
     b.    Development, Coaching or Exposure (current and future); Job Crafting for Leaders
     c.    A Self-Compassion Break
     d.    Future Self Planning (message to Future Me, accountability, connection plan, “if-then planning,” etc.)
 


•    Enhanced Leadership Clarity: a deeper understanding of their unique leadership style and how to leverage it effectively

The estimated Cost of Attendance (COA) for Leading With Purpose is $1630. 

Registrations are considered final as of 10 working days before class starts. No refunds will be issued after these dates and credits will not be given for future classes. No refunds will be granted for participants who miss a portion of a program. Refund requests before the deadline are subject to a 10% processing fee and must be made in writing to gscs@rice.edu. If books have been issued, the cost of the books and any shipping fees will be deducted. Refunds for credit card payments will be processed as credits to the accounts from which they were paid and may not appear as a credit until the following statement. Refunds for enrollments paid by check take up to four weeks to be processed and mailed by the Rice University accounting office. There is a $30 charge for any check returned for insufficient funds.

An individual may be able to claim a tax deduction or a tax credit for the cost of attending this continuing education program. However, we do not issue 1098-Ts. Non-academic credit programs such as continuing education courses do not require a 1098-T per IRS guidelines. Please keep a copy of your receipt and consult with your tax advisor about whether your payment meets the regulations that apply to tax deductions and tax credits. The University’s Federal Tax ID Number is 74-1109620.

Class meets Sept. 30, October 28 and December 2.  Tuition includes the DISC Assessment test to be completed before the course starts.  

Registrations are final 10 business days before the class start date, and no refunds or credits will be issued after this deadline. Participants who miss any portion of the program will not be eligible for refunds. Refund requests made before the deadline must be submitted in writing to riceprofdev@rice.edu and will incur a 10% processing fee of the full published tuition price.
