Whether you are new to project management, new to Agile methods or have experience but lack formal training on Agile methods and techniques, you will benefit by taking this 24-hour course which will prepare you to lead Agile projects and teams.  The course will cover many approaches to agile including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, extreme programming (XP) and hybrid approaches. 

Course content includes introduction and hands-on training on Agile tools and techniques including but not limited to Agile communications, planning, monitoring and adapting, Kanban boards, agile estimating techniques, agile analysis and design, product quality, soft skills, value based prioritization, risk management, metrics, value stream mapping and analysis plus more. The course will also address the required knowledge for the seven domains as defined by the Project Management Institute ®: Agile Principles and Mindset, Value-Driven Delivery, Stakeholder Engagement, Team Performance, Adaptive Planning, Problem Detection and Resolution, and Continuous Improvement.

There are no prerequisites. Just a general understanding of projects.   Students will develop a “class” project throughout the course.

This course is designed for business professionals, managers and leaders in for-profit or nonprofit environments who are seeking to embrace Agile Project Management to lead projects and organizations to high-quality, more efficient results with a focus on the delivery of value.

Project managers with traditional project management experience but only light or no experience in Agile methods benefit from this program by leveraging their work experience to embrace and champion Agile techniques when appropriate.

Learners pursuing PMI’s Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP®) certification benefit from this course as it provides the foundational knowledge required to take the certification exam, and it meets PMI’s educational requirement for the credential.

The estimated Cost of Attendance (COA) for Agile Project Management is up to $1675.

No refunds will be issued after these dates and credits will not be given for future classes. No refunds will be granted for participants who miss a portion of a program. Refund requests before the deadline are subject to a 10% processing fee and must be made in writing to gscs@rice.edu. If books have been issued, the cost of the books and any shipping fees will be deducted. Refunds for credit card payments will be processed as credits to the accounts from which they were paid and may not appear as a credit until the following statement. Refunds for enrollments paid by check take up to four weeks to be processed and mailed by the Rice University accounting office. There is a $30 charge for any check returned for insufficient funds.
