Many aspiring writers dream of seeing their words in print (or on the screen of an e-reader). But navigating the world of publishing can be deeply intimidating for those just starting out. In this seminar, Cassandra Rose Clarke, a published author with over 10 years of experience in the industry, will provide an overview of your publication options in the 21st century. We’ll discuss both traditional publishing and self-publishing, examining the benefits and drawbacks of each approach. In addition to an in-depth conversation about publishing, students will have the opportunity in class to research and prepare for their own publishing journey. Explore working with small and large presses, finding an agent, scams to watch out for, best practices in self-publishing and more!
